Job Description:
Customs/Trade Technician Possess and apply a basic understanding and working knowledge of US import/export regulations and requirements to support business needs.
Demonstrate a solid understanding of the internal control framework for customs and trade and apply it to daily activities in a way that protects from risk exposure and penalties.
Troubleshoot import delays and ensure a timely and accurate response to Broker Requests for Information for shipments detained during clearance through US Customs, FDA, USDA, and other government agencies.
Untimely or inaccurate responses to brokers directly result in supply chain delays, increased costs, and potential fines, penalties, and/or product seizures.
Conduct compliance spot-checks of sites/divisions to ensure compliance with corporate post-entry and post-export review requirements.
Conduct monthly risk-targeting analysis of US import/export data to identify potential data anomalies, compliance concerns, and cost-saving opportunities.
Investigate issues and report findings and concerns to Manager/Director.
Customs/Trade Technician ensures implementation and close-out of corrective actions by the division.
Experience in this field would be nice but not necessarily required.
Required Education:
Associate's/bachelor's degree.
