Primary Function:
Reception duties including receiving and identifying employees, contract employees and visitors and providing general customer service support.
Major Duties and
Responsibilities:
Provide building security through the receptionist role Produce badges for Lake County employees, contract employees and visitors Take and store photos of employees and contract employees utilizing Lake County Security Badging System Provide directions to employees, contract employees and visitors Provide contract employee and visitor security clearance Provide parking decals for employees and special requests Answer Phone calls received at Corporate Abbott Switchboard Operations and route calls to the appropriate Abbott Employee/Contractors Maintain Access control Database through the Lenel OnGuard operating system Provide support to Access control operations for Abbott Lake County Work closely with Security personnel as an extension of the security department Education & Experience Required:
High School equivalent Other Requirements:
Customer relation skills 1 year Computer skills 1 year Decision making skills 1 year Organizational skills 1 year Position Accountability Scope:
Ability to interact professionally with employees of all levels to assess need and provide a swift resolution to challenges.
High degree of competency in system operations and responsibility to system integrity and accuracy in processing requests required.
Must strictly adhere to outlined system processes and procedures to avoid corruption of data and/or access vulnerabilities.
Must have strong customer service skills and offer guidance and direction to Abbott visitors.
Problem encountered/Effect of Errors:
Improper customer relations could cause disgruntled customers; improper directions could cause customers to get lost and could lead to security breach.
Mental and Visual Demands:
Constant attention to details on computer screen is critical to the success of this position; constant processing of badges through electronic badging system.
Constant hand movements including tearing the badge from the printer; constant customer service contact both in person and over the phone.
Proper phone etiquette required of this position.

The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
